Meet The Bars
MEET THE BARS
This energy bar contains turmeric root, a powerful herb known and used around the world for its medicinal properties, with some of the earliest therapeutic uses being recorded in 1748. Turmeric is a major source of the polyphenol curcumin which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic, antimicrobial, and anticancer properties. It has also been shown to play a role in the management of exercise-induced inflammation and muscle soreness and, therefore, enhancing the recovery process and increasing performance. We add a touch of black pepper to this bar not only to balance the flavor, but also because black pepper has been shown to increase the body’s absorption of curcumin by 2000%.
Ingredients: Medjool dates, almond butter, agave syrup, oats, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, dried mango, dried blueberries, dried coconut chunks, sesame seeds, ground flax seeds, ground chia seeds, turmeric powder, black pepper, sea salt, citric acid
Beet The Competition
This bar was created to take advantage of the benefits of beet root, both athletically and for overall well-being. Beet root is high in natural organic nitrates. In short, organic nitrates work in the body to lower blood pressure and allow muscles to do the same amount of work with less oxygen requirements. Beet root also contains quercetin and resverastrol, both of which aid in the body's ability to produce mitochondria and improve the mitochondria's ability to process oxygen. The more mitochondria in the body, the more capacity for energy production. Plus this bar contains coconut oil-a source of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), which (unlike other fats) can enter the blood stream directly for an immediate fuel source during activity.
Ingredients: Medjool dates, raw almond butter, agave syrup, oats, dried cherries, dried cranberries, sesame seeds, ground flax seeds, ground chia seeds, coconut oil, beet root powder, cocoa powder, sea salt, citric acid
Berry Good Omega
This food bar is high in omega-3 fats - an essential fatty acid that serves as an anti-inflammatory agent. American diets are typically deficient in omega-3 fats and high in omega-6 fats, which many experts believe leads to increased inflammation in the body. Heavy exercise causes acute metabolic stress with an immune response in the recovery process. The anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats work to minimize the amount of damage that occurs when the body fights inflammation. In turn, this will assist with recovery post-activity. The dried berries provide a good source of antioxidants as well. Antioxidants help minimize the amount of free radicals that exercise can generate. The bar contains a slightly higher amount protein, aiding in recovery once your workout has ceased.
